A live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic, “Lilo & Stitch” is the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker behind the animated feature film “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On,” the film stars Maia Kealoha, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, with Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis. “Lilo & Stitch” is produced by Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin, with Tom Peitzman and Ryan Halprin serving as executive producers.

We're extremely excited to announce our long-in-the-making mini season: UNDERSEEN DAVID LEAN! Best known for his epics like Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago, we instead wanted to focus on some of his delightful lesser screened, more class conscious earlier work. We'll be screening his Golden Bear winning Charles Laughton comedy HOBSON'S CHOICE, heart-breaking Claude Rains love triangle THE PASSIONATE FRIENDS, Katherine Hepburn's Venetian getaway in SUMMERTIME and his London-set (and Wembley visiting) wartime drama THIS HAPPY BREED. Tickets are just £10 with all Sunday screenings introduced by The Lexi's Co-Director (me!) and our final screening will feature a panel discussion with local historians.

With Brazil having just won its first Best International Feature Film Oscar after a 27 year absence from nominations, we present a mini-season on the class divide in Brazilian cinema over that period. Featuring guest speaker introductions, a panel discussion (following the screening of THE SECOND MOTHER on Sunday 31st) and a post-screening party at The Island (following the screening of CENTRAL STATION on Thursday 21st), this is not one to miss!
You'll have a chance to see Héctor Babenco's 2003 prison drama CARANDIRU, Walter Salles Academy Award nominated 1998 road-drama CENTRAL STATION, Kleber Mendonça Filho's acclaimed 2012 debut NEIGHBOURING SOUNDS and Anna Muylaert's 2015 Sundance Award winner THE SECOND MOTHER. All of which were in the Brazilian Film Critics Association's Top 100 Brazilian films of all time.
