The Lexi Summer Film School 2026 for young people aged 12-16

The Lexi’s Summer Film School for young people is back for 2026! Spend a week watching fantastic movies on our big screen, before getting hands on learning filmmaking skills from industry pros. A great chance for film-fans to be inspired and flex those creative muscles over the summer holidays!
MONDAY - SING STREET (2016 - 12A)
In 1980s Dublin, Conor starts up a New Romantic band to impress the mysterious Raphina, but ends up discovering the power of music, creativity, and pursuing your art above all else.
TUESDAY - SCRAPPER (2023 - 12A)
Imaginative Georgie steals bikes, hides from social services, and dreams of a magical escape - until her absent dad’s return brings her back down to earth.
WEDNESDAY - ROCKS (2019 - 12A)
East-London schoolgirl Rocks’ life is turned upside down by her Mum’s disappearance, in this beautiful depiction of modern teen struggles and the joys of female friendship.
THURSDAY - SHOOTING DAY
We spend the day shooting our own film project - a series of vignettes about what it means to be teenager today - getting hands on in front of and behind the camera.
FRIDAY - HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE (2016 - 12A)
Ricky Baker and his father (Sam Neill) become accidental fugitives in the New Zealand bush, in Taika Waititi’s hilarious coming-of-age caper.
The Lexi reserves the rights to amend these plans due to unforeseen circumstances.

Course Leader: Harley Viveash
Harley is an actor, writer, director and educator based in Stoke Newington. He has worked extensively with young people across London, teaching performance skills and literary analysis. As an actor, since training at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, he’s worked across stage, television, and voice-over. For the past eight years he has been part of the Lexi team, and has led the Summer Film School programme since 2024.
