Never theatrically screened in the UK outside festivals, this critically under-seen gem features a captivating central performance from veteran Slovenian actor Igor Samobor. Much like The Class (2008), the vast majority of Class Enemy takes place within the confines of school. Samobor plays a stern German teacher with nerves of steel, who takes over a class on maternity cover. After the tragic death of class member Sabina, fingers start being pointed. Detfly handling a wide range of themes including grief, the sanctity of the classroom space, and the philosophy of teaching, Class Enemy is a shining example of compelling modern Slovenian drama.
