Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle and Academy Award-nominated writer Alex Garland reunite for 28 Years Later, a terrifying new "auteur horror" story set in the world created by 28 Days Later. It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

We're extremely excited to announce our long-in-the-making mini season: UNDERSEEN DAVID LEAN! Best known for his epics like Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago, we instead wanted to focus on some of his delightful lesser screened, more class conscious earlier work. We'll be screening his Golden Bear winning Charles Laughton comedy HOBSON'S CHOICE, heart-breaking Claude Rains love triangle THE PASSIONATE FRIENDS, Katherine Hepburn's Venetian getaway in SUMMERTIME and his London-set (and Wembley visiting) wartime drama THIS HAPPY BREED. Tickets are just £10 with all Sunday screenings introduced by The Lexi's Co-Director (me!) and our final screening will feature a panel discussion with local historians.

Featuring guest speaker introductions, a panel discussion (following the screening of THE SECOND MOTHER on Sunday 31st) and a post-screening party at The Island (following the screening of CENTRAL STATION on Thursday 21st), this is not one to miss!
