The Lexi is the only cinema in the UK to run as a social enterprise
This means we’re a limited company with a legal covenant to donate 100% of our distributable profits to our chosen charity, The Sustainability Institute in South Africa.
Since 2018 we’ve been a unique model of how to run a community arts organisation, using business to do good and putting people at the heart of how we operate. Our box office and bar are run by an amazing team of local volunteers from all walks of life, and we are a London Living Wage Employer.
As well as delivering an amazing film programme, we’re also a valuable resource for our local neighbourhood and our home borough of Brent, delivering a multitude of film-based community projects in collaboration with our Community Partners.
In 2019 and 2020 we were very proud to be awarded SE100 status, as one of NatWest’s top 100 social enterprises in the UK. We’re also accredited by Social Enterprise UK.
