NOVEMBER AT THE LEXI CINEMA

NOVEMBER AT THE LEXI CINEMA

Saturday 1 Nov 2025

Johnathan Kirk

We're excited to have launched our Irish Language film season: VISIONS OF AN OTHERWORLD, curated by NFTS student Joseph Pidgeon. We'll be screening Colm Bairéad’s 2022 fiction film THE QUIET GIRL (Wed 5th), Ciara Nic Chormaic’s 2022 documentary CLOUDED REVERIES (Thu 13th), Pat Collins’s 2017 biographic feature SONG OF GRANITE (Wed 19th) and Tomm Moore’s 2014 animation SONG OF THE SEA (Wed 26th) with an introduction from Ghibliotheque's Michael Leader.

From the Kelly green of Ireland to the emerald city, you will be changed by the much anticipated WICKED: FOR GOOD. The follow-up to last year’s global cinematic cultural sensation, which became the most successful Broadway film adaptation of all time, reaches its epic, electrifying, emotional conclusion here at the Lexi from 28th November.

We wanted to spotlight some incredible films from British filmmakers coming out in November and things don't get more British than Ralph Fiennes starring in an Alan Bennett, Yorkshire set, WW1 comedy drama... so we must start with the heartfelt and hilarious THE CHORAL. Ralph excels as the Chorus Master of a local choral society forced to recruit a group of teenage boys and girls with all the absent men fighting the war. We can't wait to welcome Scottish filmmaker Lynne Ramsay (We Need To Talk About Kevin) back to our screens with her visceral postnatal marriage drama DIE MY LOVE. This film wowed Cannes audience back in May and features incredible performances by Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson and even Nick Nolte, don't miss it! We also want to shoutout Gaby Dellal's New York-set family drama PARK AVENUE starring Fiona Shaw. Gaby will be joining us in-person on Wednesday 12th November for a post-film Q&A.

One of my personal favourites of the month has to be BUGONIA, which sees Yorgos Lanthimos (The Favourite) reuniting with Emma Stone (Poor Things) and Jesse Plemons (Kinds of Kindness). Two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth, it is another deliciously bold film from the Greek provocateur. We think NUREMBERG will be a real hit here with its nuanced political commentary and terrifying performance from Russell Crowe as Hermann Göring. There's the dark side of delivery driving in the Paris set drama SOULEYMANE'S STORY that we're very proud to be showing. We've also had massive pre-sales on PALESTINE 36 with lots of shows close to selling out, so if you're keen to see that one definitely don't delay.

We've got a handful of one-offs to look forward to throughout a busy November. Our Exhibition on Screen programming returns with CARAVAGGIO, the most extensive film ever made about one of the greatest artists of all time. London Migration Film Festival is back with Tibetan anthology film STATE OF STATELESSNESS + Q&A on Saturday 29th November. There's also a preview on the UN's 'International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People' of the harrowing Venice prize winning docudrama THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB. And last but not least we're marking Islamophobia Awareness Month alongside Brent Council with the BIFA longlisted drama BRIDES + Q&A with lead actress Safiyya Ingar.

Sign up to our weekly newsletter to be the first to know about anything else screening in November and beyond, we've just launched DRAGONFLY featuring Brenda Blethyn's incredible BIFA nominated performance and WAKE UP DEAD MAN: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY.
