LSFF: Come on let’s play!

Come on let's play! is a 60 minute programme of children's animations from the Czech Republic and Hungary, all made in the 1960s.

Featuring works by the oft-described 'mother of Czech animation', Hermína Týrlová, and the Hungarian cult classic, The Pencil & The Eraser, the programme takes its title from the iconic Czech animated TV series, Hey Mister, Let's Play! (Pojďte pane, budeme si hrát) created by Břetislav Pojar and Miroslav Štěpánek - of which the hilarious 'Hold onto your Hat!' (Držte si klobouk) features here.

Collectively, the films explore inanimate worlds brought to life by the magic of stop-motion and beautiful moving illustration. Two balls of wool unravel into a cheeky dance, a pencil and an eraser come to heads in a battle of wills, and two mischievous hands threaten to steal a juicy apple! With very little dialogue, only visual magic and sound, the films in Come On Let's Play! delight with mischief and wonder.

Suitable for children ages 4+ years and grown ups, too!
