As the Easter holidays approach, we’ve programmed a host of animated films which will impress grown-up animation fans and families with kids alike. Even better news, viewers of all ages can get cinema tickets to all of these films from just £5.50, with our Family Fun pricing.

So from the quirky, Oscar-nominated Robot Dreams, to the long-awaited Kung Fu Panda 4, here are the films you can catch this Easter holiday at The Lexi…

ROBOT DREAMS (PG) arrives on Friday 5 April

We get it. Living in a big city can be lonely. But not all of us go to the lengths that Dog goes to find friendship, as the lonesome canine decides one day to order himself a pre-built robotic buddy after seeing an ad on TV. A far cry from the slightly sinister robots of sci-fi ilk, Robot is a smiley, friendly, lovable being, and he and Dog are fast friends. The pair adventure together through a bustling, re-imagined 1980s New York City, until one fateful day, they’re separated - and it’s far from easy for Dog to be reunited with his new friend… Filled with lovely details and technicolour visuals, Robot Dreams is also a feast for the soul as much as it is for the eyes, telling a touching story about friendship, and what happens when the people we love grow apart from us. Tackling important topics through a gentle, playful lens: it’s the power of animation! Get showtimes.

SOUL (PG) screens at The Lexi from Friday 29 March

An acclaimed Pixar title, described by Peter Bradshaw as ‘a deeply sweet, happy, gentle film’ in his five star review for The Guardian, Soul was never shown in UK Cinemas, owing to its 2020 release date. We’re helping to put this misfortune right this Spring as it comes to the big screen for the first time. In this existentially-tinged and magical story, Joe (voiced by Jamie Foxx) is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn’t gone quite as he expected. His true passion is jazz, and despite constant setbacks, he hasn’t quite let go of his dream to make a living from music… But when an unexpected event causes Joe to travel into another realm to help a little lost spirit (voiced by Tina Fey) discover their life’s purpose, Joe discovers what it means to have soul, and that there’s more than one way to live a life with meaning. A hugely imaginative interdimensional tale - and because Joe wanted to be a jazz musician, not an astronaut, when he grew up, it’s got a great soundtrack, too. Get showtimes.

MIGRATION (U) arrives at The Lexi on Friday 29 March

In Migration, a family of ducks are bound for Jamaica, as they embark on the family holiday of a lifetime, and their journey is filled with escapades and gags that’ll have you quacking up (sorry not sorry) throughout. Anxious about leaving behind their cosy New England nest, the family are a little apprehensive about their travels, and perhaps rightfully so, as they end up lost in New York City, where streetwise pigeons rule the roost… Featuring  a star-studded comedy voice cast including Kumail Nanjiani, Awkwafina and Danny Devito, get your ducks in a row and book tickets to see this crowd pleaser. Get showtimes.

KUNG FU PANDA 4 (PG) plays from Friday 29 March

It was a wonderful day when the world’s cinema screens were first blessed by the presence of a dumpling-guzzling, Kung Fu-loving cuddly panda voiced by none other than Jack Black. Yet it’s been a long eight years since we were last treated to a new instalment in the Kung Fu Panda saga. In this latest outing, the titular panda Po is visited by his old friend and mentor Master Shifu, who delivers news that Po must become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace, which means he must give up his coveted role of Dragon Warrior (a title which sounds a bit made up, but we’ll go with it), and find and train a worthy replacement. Meanwhile, sightings of an evil sorceress known as The Chameleon (voiced by Viola Davis) suggest that Po may have to put his Kung Fu skills to use once more… Get showtimes.
