Meg Murry is an ordinary young teenager - shy, a little gawky, and short on self-confidence.  And then there's the fact that her beloved physicist father disappeared 5 years ago while trying to prove his radical theory of time having 'wrinkles', or tesseracts.  A girl could be forgiven for feeling blue.  Life becomes a horse of a different colour, though, when eccentric guardian angels, the Mrs - Mrs Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon), Mrs Who (Mindy Kaling) and Mrs Which (Oprah Winfrey) - come to Earth especially to enlist the help of Meg and her brother, Charles Wallace.  They bring news that Meg's father is captive on the evil planet of Camazotz, and that only the Bringers of Light - goodness aligned with love - can save him.  It's the beginning of an extraordinary journey in which Meg finds out there is nothing at all ordinary about herself!

Take one beloved book, full of big ideas and amazing adventure.  Draft in Jennifer Lee, the writer of Frozen, and Ava du Vernay (Selma) as director.  Give it a big bucks budget, then shake it about with some of the magic of The Wizard of Oz and the wit and wonder of the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  By the time you've cast three of Hollywood's most independent and influential actors as the Mrs, you're cooking on gas!  We can't wait.
