Toni Erdmann

"If you're looking for the best and most beguiling foreign-language film of the year, you'll find it in Maren Ade's German father-daughter story that will leave you laughing and choking back tears, often simultaneously." Rolling Stone

Showing Times

The BAFTA-nominated film by Maren Ade stars Sandra Hüller as Ines, a highly-strung career woman whose life in corporate Bucharest takes a turn for the bizarre with the arrival of her estranged father, Winifried (Peter Simonischek). A practical joker with a liking for silly disguises and childish pranks, Winfried attempts to reconnect with his daughter by introducing the eccentric alter ego Toni Erdmann to catch Ines off guard, not knowing how capable she is of rising to the challenge.

Hot from the Lexi's programmer, Rosie:  "This was the best film I saw last year. I beg you all to go and see it. I know it's long and German and looks like it might be a rather irritating farce, but it's sublime."
