New York, 1971, and the Weismann's Follies girls are getting together in a crumbling Broadway theatre on the eve of its demolition.  It's been 30 years since their glory days performing there, and life hasn't been equally kind to all of them since then.  A few drinks, a few of the ol' songs, and their history is being revisited - and in some cases, rewritten. Cue such standards as "Broadway Baby", "I'm Still Here", "Too Many Mornings", "Could I Leave You?", and "Losing My Mind".

This Sondheim modern classic (with book by James Goldman) lost its initial investment when it premiered in New York but it triumphed when it went on to be nominated for 11 Tony Awards and won 7 of them.  Since then there've been numerous revivials but this is a first at the National Theatre.  Tracie Bennett, Janie Dee and Imelda Staunton are the Follies Girls, and this glittering production features a cast of 37 and an orchestra of 21.  Meastro Sondheim’s previous work includes A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd and Sunday in the Park with George.
