Migration Fest: Lingua Franca + Q&A

London Migration Film Festival: We present you with human stories, of people that at some point in their lives decided to move. Nothing could be more simple and more complicated than that.

Olivia, an undocumented Filipino transwoman, works as a caregiver to Olga, an elderly Russian woman in Brooklyn. When Olivia runs out of options to attain legal status in the US, she becomes romantically involved with Olga's adult grandson Alex in pursuit of a marriage-based green card.

About London Migration Film Festival   The goal of the festival is to portray the diversity, nuance and subjective experience within migration - including and beyond the refugee experience - in order to restore the dignity and humanity inherent within it. We hope to challenge the rhetoric that overwhelmingly reduces migrants to simplistic categories: enemies or victims, passive or active. And in the process we hope to challenge our viewers.
