"The latest big-screen superhero story is a subversive and uproarious action-adventure, in which African stereotypes are upended and history is rewritten." ★★★★ Guardian

Prince T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) returns to his homeland Wakanda to take over as monarch after the death of his father. The outside world only knows Wakanda as a dirt poor, isolated country - the popular perception of a developing world African nation - but within its jungle boundaries lies a hidden world of futuristic technology and great modernity.  The key to all this is the secret element vibranium, an incredible power source harnessed by T'Challa's sister, brilliant scientist Shuri (Laetitia Wright).  All is not well in this secret Garden of Eden, though, with rivals for the throne, threats from outside, and plots to steal the vibranium.  It's a good thing T'Challa has not altogether abandoned his life as a superhero!

Are there any boxes this spectacular flick does not tick?  It's a superhero origin story, a racial redirect in the pantheon of white 'Marvels', and it's politically savvy, narratively sassy and packed with premium production values.  Enjoy!
