Bohemian Rhapsody

"We will, we will..." Promise!

Showing Times

This is a foot-stomping celebration of all things 'Queen', a tribute to their enduring music and extraordinay lead singer, Freddie Mercury.  The film traces the rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury's lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, when Mercury, ill with AIDS, leads the band in one of the greatest live performances in the history of rock music.

Californian Rami Malek (Mr Robot) takes up the challenge of recreating the suprememly charismatic Mercury - "I'm just a musical prostitute, my dear." - and by all accounts he does him proud!  Everything about the band was played at volume 11 on the amp of Life, and the film is a welcome reminder of an era, and a particularly flamboyant genius performer.  It's a kind of magic...
