Blade Runner 2049

"A gigantic spectacle of pure hallucinatory craziness." ★★★★★ Guardian

Showing Times

Officer K (Ryan Gosling), a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. The discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who's been missing for 30 years.  (Where has Deckard been, we ask?  What has become of the replicants, and why is society - again? still? - on the brink of chaos?)

When Blade Runner hit theatres back in 1982, it arrived to mixed reviews. Audiences and critics weren’t quite ready for Ridley Scott’s dystopian sci-fi noir but over time the film has become an influential cult classic.  There've been whispers of a sequel for quite a while - with rumours that David Bowie might star - but it took this long for director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario), with Scott at his back as Exec Producer, to dare to revisit something so truly iconic.  The cast looks perfect (including Ford, again, and also Robin Wright and Jared Leto); the dystopian future is visualised with the same weighty atmosphere, and anticipation is running sky high!
