Exhibiting at the Lexi

"You have a great set up there that makes it very easy for artists to quickly hang a show. I would absolutely recommend it to others!" Illustrator Lucy Skinner, one of our previous exhibitors.

We welcome applications from artists to exhibit in our space. Since we opened the Gallery Bar we've hosted exhibitions of prints, collages, posters, photography, paintings, illustrated poetry and even kinetic art!   We're happy to consider applications both from individuals and groups of artists who would like to exhibit together.  We particularly encourage applications from artists who are local, and we welcome work on a cinematic theme.

Enquiries to exhibit to carin@thelexicinema.co.uk or zoe@thelexicinema.co.uk.  Please include samples, or a link to samples, of your work, and before contacting us we strongly encourage a visit to the Lexi Gallery Bar so you are familiar with the space and what is on offer.  It is not a conventional exhibition space, nor are we a conventional gallery!

We'll host a Private View at the beginning of the exhibition, and we'll also promote the show via our newsletter and marketing platforms, including a slide in our pre-show reel.  Exhibitions remain up for 6 weeks.  There is no charge for the use of the space.

We are happy to host selling exhibitions but all sales enquiries must be dealt with directly by the artist.  We charge no commision on sales but we do ask artists to donate a percentage of money made to the charity the Lexi supports, the Sustainability Institute, in lieu.

We have a track hanging system and a supply of nylon drops to use with it.  One side of the Gallery is a bare brick surface, the opposite wall is white.  Additionally, we have some simple wooden frames that can be used, 11 frames at 10” x 16”.  These are set at a fairly low level and are best suited for displaying support material such as sketch book work rather than the main artwork.
