Best Before: the London Food Revolution + panel discussion

Wed 31st Oct, 18:30.  Suggested £5 donation on the door

Best Before: the London Food Revolution is a short documentary about rising food prices and an impending food crisis in the UK. In London, a handful of supermarkets dominate the market, an incredible amount food food is wasted everyday, and fresh, healthy food has become the privilege of the wealthy, while those worse-off have access to low quality, fatty and sugar-rich food. But London is also the city where community organisations are shaping alternatives. From city farms to roof gardens, farmers’ markets to food cooperatives, Londoners are taking matters into their own hands. Best Before follows the people taking back control of food production in the UK and who are providing an alternative for a more sustainable, ecological and socially just food system.

This screening is the official launch of the film and is supported by an excellent panel to support discussion of the issues afterwards.  To reserve a space, email bestbeforedoc@gmail.com
