SING YOUR SONG presents the untold story of American singer-songwriter, actor and social activist Harry Belafonte. While most people are familiar with Belafonte the entertainer, editor-turned-director Susanne Rostock’s biographical documentary offers a fresh perspective on the man who so significantly contributed to the Civil Rights movement. From his tough upbringing in 1920s Harlem and Jamaica, we discover a young man who on his way to stardom never loses sight of his passion for provoking social action.

And, of course, there is more than passing reference to Belafonte’s marvellous, mellifluous voice; the swoonable, croonable voice that put him in a position to pursue his less well-known career as social activist.
