After his cerebral ménage à trois A DANGEROUS METHOD, Canadian director David Cronenberg (THE FLY, EASTERN PROMISES) returns to more familiar territory with this surrealist metropolitan drama starring TWILIGHT graduate Robert Pattinson. The basic premise is simple enough: a 28-year-old billionaire asset manager (Pattinson) is travelling across Manhattan in a stretch limo in order to get a haircut. But this being a Cronenberg movie things aren’t quite what they first seem, and our young protagonist’s ordinary journey quickly becomes a grotesque odyssey with shady and highly sexed characters that flips his world on its head. Cronenberg has a deft touch with leading men, so expect big things from Pattinson in COSMOPOLIS.
